Oviedo has had an Exhibition and Conference Centre (PEC) since 2011. Located in Buenavista, it was built to a design by architect Santiago Calatrava, winner of the Prince of Asturias Award for the Arts in 1999.
The Centre is a spectacular white building with a floor area of 15,640 square metres. Constructed from concrete, steel and glass, it has a shell-like form and features the giant ribs characteristic of its creator’s work. Access is through a glazed frontage.
